COVID-19 Outreach Efforts Continue in Cambodia

Rock Foundation Cambodia (RFC) continues to provide relief to Cambodian men, women, and children struggling with the economic fallout from the COVID-19 health crisis. This month, we will distribute 15,000 lbs. of rice as part of our outreach efforts.

We are grateful to report that Cambodia has made significant progress with mitigating the spread of COVID-19. In recent weeks, there have been little to no new cases of or deaths. However, the resulting financial hardship has left many Cambodians unable to afford basic needs.

In the garments and textile industry, a shortage of materials from China has resulted in massive layoffs in production plants across Cambodia.

According to EURACTIV, “Cambodia’s garment manufacturing association also said factory closures approached 400 by mid-summer, with more than 150,000 layoffs.”

Our ministry continues to support Cambodians impacted by the pandemic by showing them the love of Jesus while providing them with life-sustaining resources. We hope to drill as many as 20 new water wells by the end of this year to help create lasting change in the country. Additionally, we’re planning to import another container of medical supplies next month.

RFC exists to meet the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of the Cambodian people through poverty assistance and community outreach. You help can us improve the quality of life for those who need it most by donating today.
