We’re excited to say that, thanks to our partnership with Gateway Medical Alliance, we’ve shipped yet another successful import of a container full of life-saving medical supplies. On average, each container has equipment valued at over $338,000.
We happily share this medical equipment with Cambodia’s governmental leadership, specifically the prime minister’s son. They help distribute the donated hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, and more to the areas of greatest need.
The need for these medical supplies has never been greater. Cambodia’s first wave of Covid-19 hit the country just months ago, and hotels are being converted into hospitals to keep up with the demand.
This shipping container is our 15th since we began importing medical equipment in 2018, and it’s our third for 2021, bringing us closer to our goal of importing six new containers full of donated medical supplies from the U.S. this year.
With Cambodia’s climbing Covid-19 cases, each shipment of medical supplies grows in necessity and value. Although the medical supplies are donated, each shipping container costs about $4,500 to ship. You can sponsor a shipment and help thousands of impoverished Cambodians receive these medical resources by visiting our Medical Supplies Project webpage.
