RFC Receives Certificate of Appreciation, Completes New Well

The government of Cambodia recently honored us with a certificate of appreciation. Part of our program for importing medical supplies includes partnering with Cambodian leadership for distributing these essential, life-saving resources where they are most needed.

Following our most recent shipment, our staff recently accepted a certificate of appreciation for providing the medical supplies contained to the Ministry of the Interior’s Department of Prisons.

This honor comes on the heels of the completion of a new water well. This is the 33rd well so far in 2021.

We rejoice in the installation of this new well, not only for how it will improve the lives of the villagers, but also because it represents perseverance in the face of adversity.

This year, our drilling efforts have experienced setbacks and sorrow. Firstly, a first wave of Covid-19 struck Cambodia in February, setting off a series of highly restrictive travel bans and stay-at-home orders. While waiting for restrictions to ease, we helped distribute over 70,00 pounds of rice to impoverished Cambodians and performed maintenance and repairs on our drilling equipment. When travel bans lifted, our team set out to go drilling only to be informed that the brother of our main driller passed away in a motorcycle accident.

We are working to press on with drilling new clean water wells while also being supportive of his family and their loss. Each well serves hundreds of people, so we ask that you pray for forward momentum and no delays caused by Covid-19 or other reasons.

To help provide essential medical supplies and fresh, clean water to the precious Khmer people, please consider helping to provide a foundation of support for our efforts in Cambodia by giving monthly to our ministry.
