Over the past few months, our founder Brett Medlin and his wife Sithorn have been visiting churches, connecting with donors, and taking time to rest and refocus here in the United States. Amid this season of reflection and reconnection, one particular moment stood out—a powerful, full-circle experience at RockPointe Church in Flower Mound, Texas.
In March, Brett and Sithorn were joined at RockPointe by Curt Williams, Chairman of the RFC Board and Founder of Youth-Reach, along with Pastor Randy Riggins, a longtime friend of Curt’s and a pastor at RockPointe. What happened that day was more than a church visit—it was a living testimony of God’s faithfulness across generations.
The story begins over 40 years ago, when Randy served as a student pastor at Zoar Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. During one summer camp, Randy invited Curt to speak. Curt accepted—and it was there that he noticed a defiant 17-year-old boy sitting in the back row, arms crossed, heart closed.
That young man was Brett.
Curt, refusing to let anyone slip through the cracks, approached him. He handed Brett his card and said words that would echo into eternity:
“If you ever need me, I will answer the call.”
Almost a year later, Brett made that call. Curt picked up—just as he had promised—and welcomed Brett into Youth-Reach Houston. It was the beginning of a transformation that would change the course of Brett’s life forever.
Fast forward decades later, and that once-defiant teenager now stood on the stage at RockPointe Church—a leader, a husband, a missionary—beside the two men who helped shape his journey of faith. It was the first time Pastor Randy had met Sithorn, and a long-awaited reunion between him and Brett. In that moment, three lives intersected again, each one a reminder that God wastes nothing and that no one is ever too far gone.
It was a sacred pause—a moment of deep gratitude and awe.
A testimony to the seeds planted faithfully, and the fruit God brings forth in His perfect time.
RockPointe Church has been a faithful supporter of RFC for many years, and we are so grateful for their ongoing partnership. Their support is helping transform lives across the globe—just as Curt and Randy once helped transform Brett’s.
If your church is seeking a ministry that’s making a tangible difference in the lives of the poor and vulnerable, we invite you to become a partner with RFC. Together, we can keep planting seeds, answering the call, and witnessing the miracles that come when we simply say “yes” to what God asks us to do.
